IPL SKIN PIGMENTATION TREATMENT

There are many types of skin pigmentation's that can occur. Some, such as birthmarks, may have been present all your life, whilst others may be due to prolonged or previous sun exposure. Liver spots, age spots, freckles that occur after sun exposure and many others can be successfully treated and reduced using IPL.

Skin pigmentation can be of many different shades and colours, and most are in someway affected or produced by sun exposure and, therefore, seen in the parts of the skin usually exposed to sunlight. IPL treatment is used and is able to remove the excessive and unwanted pigmentation's to leave behind natural skin colour and texture.

Most customers will see an immediate and sometimes startling improvement after just a single session, however as pigmentation and birth marks can reoccur, it is advised that regular sessions spaced out by some weeks are booked. Care must also be taken with any sun exposure and a high SPF 30 sun cream is recommended.

Filtered IPL light is targeted onto  the cells containing excessive melanin, the pigment that causes these spots and freckles. The IPL light breaks down the excess melanin without affecting the surrounding skin. there will be an immediate affect on the area of some reddening. This may then appear for some days like a bruise and becomes somewhat scabby. Allow this to naturally peel off after about  days or so.

A really good result is usually seen with age and sun spots and freckles. Birth marks are more variable in results although there will be a beneficial effect.
