Nowadays laser tattoo removal is straightforward, safe and capable of producing fantastic results. Laser light is used to break down the tattoo ink particles into tiny fragments which the body removes using it's own immune system.

You will usually require a number of separate sessions to fully remove your tattoo. You must always leave a minimum of 6 weeks between sessions and so the whole process can take time. If you would like to discuss tattoo removal with us we would be delighted to hear from you.

How are tattoos removed by laser?

Laser light penetrates the outer skin (epidermis) and interacts with the tattoo ink pigments. The laser light heats the ink causing it to shatter into tiny pieces.

Different frequencies of laser light are used for different tattoo colours. Some lighter or fluorescent colours may be more difficult to remove than darker colours. The ink particles are gradually removed in the blood stream by the bodies own immune system.

Due to the different quality of inks used, and the initial skills of the tattooist, it is difficult to be sure how many sessions will be required to remove your tattoo.
